here are some pictures of my dads medals his name was Fred Weysom he earned these during the second world war

he served on HMS Whirlwind where he was part of the British Pacific Fleet he was a gunner and his job was to shoot down kamikaze planes before they could crash into the American aircraft carriers who's planes were attacking Sackishima as part of operation iceberg, good one dad

the main thing is we have a new government

Guernsey has a government of consensus , we don't have political parties instead individual people stand for their own manifesto and they are elected as individuals to represent the people of a certain district and n turn to govern the whole island

ok lets forget all about the fact that weve got the date wrong and it was actualy a pagan feast and lets cut to the chase .
CHRISTMAS Dec the 25th is the day that we remeber the birth of Jesus.
the only begotten son of the father who gave up all his godly authority in order to be born as a baby, why did he need to do this ? he had to be both God and man in order that as a man he could take upon himself the sin of the world but he had to be God because Gods first man adam was defeated by sin, so Jesus had to be GOD in order to defeat sin he had to be truly man and truly God in order to redeem us from the wrath of God this is what Christmas is the beggining of the most wonderful story that can ever be told .

yesterday Sunday 13 Nov was our rememberance day the day when we take time to remember all those both military and civillian who lost their lives in war , at this time i always reflect on two things , firstly that my Father and Grand Father fought in wars that for them were traumatic and life threatening and secondly that my God preserved their lives and the lives of all my ancestors so that i would be alive now to serve him in this Generation .

I have just returned from a visit to the Moscow State Circus this was my second visit this year, a i went to Brighton to see them six months ago, but it was worth going again as it was surprising what we had forgoten, and i would give them 10/10 for sheer skill and entertainment value

Rock of Ages

"Rock of Ages" is a popular Christian hymn with lyrics by Reverend Augustus Montague Toplady, and music by Thomas Hastings. The lyrics to the hymn were first published in The Gospel Magazine in 1775, with the music added in around 1830.

According to a famous but largely unsubstantiated story, Rev. Toplady drew his inspiration from an incident in the famous gorge of Burrington Combe, part of the Cheddar Gorge. Toplady, a preacher in the nearby village of Blagdon, was travelling along the gorge when he was caught in a storm. Finding shelter in a gap in the gorge, he was struck by the title and scribbled down the initial lyrics on a playing card.

The fissure that is believed to have sheltered Toplady is now marked as the "Rock of Ages" on some maps, and is also reflected in the name of a nearby tea shop.

The hymn was a favourite of Prince Albert, who asked it to be played to him on his deathbed, and it was also played at the funeral of William Ewart Gladstone.

In his book Hymns That Have Helped, W. T. Stead reported that:

when the London went down in the Bay of Biscay, January 11, 1866, the last thing which the last man who left the ship heard as the boat pushed off from the doomed vessel was the voices of the passengers singing "Rock of Ages".

Sarnia was the Roman name for this little old island situated between England and France it has been of interest at times for military purposes including to old Adolf who sent his boys over to stay with us for a few years in the early 1940s i think that they must have had an interest in landscaping because they left a number of concrete structures around the place that still remain with us to day
